This model shows how the barrel of the cannon was bored. The barrel of the cannon cast with the reverberatory furnace is at first solid. This is because for cast-iron cannons, the bore was made after the barrel was cast in order to maintain barrel strength. Europe used steam, but Saga used the waterwheel. This is the model of a machine set up to bore barrels, created in frame format based on original drawings in Dutch documents. Turn the two handles simultaneously, and you will get a good picture of the mechanism for boring barrels.
