16Gokoshoin (room for meetings and ceremonies)

This is the Gokoshoin. This room was used for meetings with the lord’s aides including the three branch families, as well as for various ceremonies such as New Year's events. In 1853, a crane captured while hunting with falcons was presented by the Shogun family, and this crane traveled exactly the same route as you just did, from the entrance to the Onshikidai, through the Sotogoshoin, and entering this Gokoshoin.
