3The corridor

This is a 45-meter corridor laid with tatami mats, located on the north side of the building. There are double-sided sliding doors of paper screens called shoji on the inside and wooden panels called amado on the outside to close off the space from the outside air; this is a characteristic fixture seen in many traditional Japanese residential buildings.
