Seeking new possibilities in Arita ware!
Artist Asao TOKOLO, who began creating patterns under the theme of "linking," works at the intersection of the fields of art, architecture, and design. With notable works including the lower facade glass for the Dai Nagoya Building, an outdoor sculpture for the Otemachi Park Building, and the "Kumiichimatsumon" (harmonized chequered pattern) emblems that were chosen as the official emblems for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games, the artist's expressive activities have been expanding in scope.
The exhibition focuses on the blue colour that fascinates TOKOLO, who sought new possibilities in Arita ware by fusing tradition and innovation with a unique point of view. The museum invites you to enjoy the world of Arita ware, which promises to convey the viewer to a new future.
