What do the marks on the bottom mean?
- Inside story of Dishes -

When you see the back of the dishes, you may find the character and/or marks which are different from the patterns on the front. These letters and marks are known as 'Mei'.

It is a good chance to gain further knowledge about Mei, which has a wide variety of them, such as the characters being written or patterns being drawn on the back of the dishes that look as if they were made in China, and mysterious marks which make it hard to understand.

This is an exhibition that introduces in an easy-to-understand manner various things related to Mei, which has lots of different types of marks that changes with the times and production area as well as the differences in the writing of Mei.
