Exhibition of New Acquisition 2
Ko-Garatsu and others

Kyushu Ceramic Museum exhibit 30 objects donated to the museum by Mr. Yamaguchi Yoji in the fiscal year of 2022. The items donated this time are mainly Ko-Garatsu ware and early Imari ware from the Azuchi-Momoyama period to the early Edo period. In addition, the collection features a wide variety of works including Agano ware from Fukuoka Prefecture, Utsutsugawa ware from Nagasaki Prefecture, and ceramics from the Joseon period, which can be considered to the roots of Kyushu ceramics.

We introduce a fascinating collection of old ceramics, including E-Garatsu (Painted Karatsu), which is notable for its free and easy patterns expressed in iron paintings.
